Industry Press Covers the LoopUp and Digicel Caribbean Partnership

Earlier this month, we announced our partnership with Digicel to bring the first regionwide Microsoft Teams Operator Connect service to the Caribbean. The partnership pairs LoopUp’s global Operator Connect platform with Digicel’s extensive in-country presence and trusted business relationships across the region, giving Digicel Business customers a fully managed, Teams-first telephony experience without the need to juggle multiple regional carriers or maintain legacy PBX equipment.

As Steve Flavell, Co-CEO of LoopUp, put it: “Partnering with Digicel is a significant milestone in LoopUp’s international expansion. Not only are we bringing the first Operator Connect capability to the region with Digicel, but we’re also extending our market-leading global country coverage for our multinational enterprise customers, who are headquartered elsewhere in the world but have operations throughout the region.”

For Digicel, the partnership adds a flagship enterprise voice capability to its growing portfolio of cloud services, serving organizations across financial services, hospitality, government, and energy. Liam Donnelly, Chief Business Officer for Digicel Group, added: “Our customers are asking for smarter, simpler ways to communicate, and Microsoft Teams has become the platform of choice for many of them. By partnering with LoopUp, we can give our enterprise customers a seamless, fully managed Teams telephony experience, regionwide and now globally.”

Since the announcement, the story has picked up coverage across several telecom and IT trade publications:

  • Telco Brief — “LoopUp & Digicel launch Teams telephony in Caribbean”
  • IT Brief — “LoopUp & Digicel launch Teams telephony in Caribbean”
  • eCommerce Brief — “LoopUp & Digicel launch Teams telephony in Caribbean”
  • Intelligent CIO LATAM — “Digicel and LoopUp launch Caribbean-wide Microsoft Teams Operator Connect service”
  • Total Telecom — “Digicel and LoopUp partner to bring Microsoft Teams telephony to the Caribbean region”

We’re glad to see the industry taking note of what this partnership means for enterprises operating across the Caribbean and Central America: a simpler, Microsoft-certified path to unifying business telephony with Teams, backed by local network reach and global service consistency. The service became available to Digicel Business customers starting July 2026.
