How many times have you heard – or uttered – the words “who just joined?” on your conference calls? A while ago we spotted this great clip from Dave Grady which deals with something close to our hearts: the pain felt on audio and web conference calls. To laughs of recognition from the audience – who are clearly very familiar with these issues – Dave plays the part of the increasingly stressed-out call leader as he navigates common conference call pitfalls. Participants joining late, background noise, people dropping off instead of muting their lines… the list goes on.
We couldn’t have made a better video ourselves!
Here’s a slightly older video by Greg Schwem, united in its “Who just joined?” derision.
We especially like the “Call me after we hang up” comment.
These very real and keenly felt issues around audio and web conferencing have been around for as long as this business activity has existed. And these issues lead to people truly disliking conferencing, and having meetings they suffer through, rather than more productive, less stressful conference calls. Seeing these videos reminds us why LoopUp exists: to make conference calls just less terrible.
