We are excited to announce that the LoopUp London team have a new home – The Tea Building. LoopUp moved to its new HQ in the heart of Shoreditch at the end of last year. The Tea building is an iconic landmark in East London and a prime location for tech companies in one of the capital’s hippest areas.
Looking back 150 years, Shoreditch was a thriving manufacturing and commercial city suburb renowned for furniture making, clothing and printing. Shoreditch remained an entertainment hub into the 20th century, comprising some of the largest theatres in London and putting on shows that rivalled the West End. In the period that followed, after two wars, Shoreditch had a reputation for being overcrowded and unsafe. Most of the area was damaged during wartime bombing, and major renovations began in the 1950s.
Today, Shoreditch represents one of the most successful regeneration zones in Europe, where creativity, food and drink, and tech companies take centre stage. Bordering an array of financial firms in The City and The Silicon Roundabout – East London’s cluster of high-tech companies – it’s the ideal base for LoopUp’s HQ.
The Tea Building
The Tea Building, formerly owned by the Lipton family, was originally a bacon curing plant built on the grounds of a tea storage facility in the 1930s. The Lipton brand distributed tea around the world and bacon around London. Today, the Tea building is filled with a mix of digital and tech companies and is a hive for creative activity.
The LoopUp office
We partnered with E V E R Y T H I N G, a London-based design company, to help us to carve out the perfect interior for our new space. For us, culture is really important, so providing a working environment that keeps creativity alive and sparks innovation is crucial.
Our new office is bright and spacious, with plenty of communal space to work and play. The interior is in keeping with the industrial theme, injected with pops of colour, artwork and lots of plants.
