Microsoft SIP Gateway Welcomes Compatibility with 2N Devices

LoopUp MVP post 2N devices

After just completing a talk around complex calling scenarios which included a deep discussion into the Microsoft SIP Gateway. I’m super happy to see a brand new and well-known brand make its way onto the compatible devices list in the form of 2N.

2N produce devices that can be used in more complex scenarios you may not think about can be covered by Microsoft Teams Phone, such as intercoms, speakers, and lift scenarios.

One interesting thing I’ve found out through talking with some of the team over at 2N is that there will also be a requirement to have a one-time per device license purchased to enable this functionality against Teams. This is not a Microsoft licensing but 2N license you require. The MSRP of this is £120. So bare that in mind when you are looking to deploy these devices.

If you have some of the compatible 2N devices already here is a hand deployment guide to get you started.

Check out the Microsoft SIP Gateway compatibility list for a full list of devices and minimum & approved firmware versions, here is a list of devices that have been added:

  • SIP Speaker Horn
  • SIP Speaker
  • Sentrio Cabin
  • Lift IP
  • Indoor View – WiFi
  • Indoor View
  • Indoor Compact
  • Indoor Talk
  • Clip
  • IP Style
  • IP Verso 2.0
  • IP Verso
  • IP Vario
  • IP Solo
  • IP One
  • IP Safety
  • IP Force
  • IP Base
  • IP Video Kit
  • IP Audio Kit

Looking at this list, I’d like to point out a couple of devices that stick out to me:

  • Indoor View range – These devices are video capable devices that will turn into audio only devices as the SIP Gateway is a voice only workload for now.
  • Lift IP – Nice to see a dedicated Lift type phone show up on the SIP Gateway as I’ve discussed workarounds for these with customers in the past.
  • IP Force – Intercom with IP69K and IK10 standards which is nice for outdoor intercom scenarios
