I’m pleased to announce that our two co-CEOs, Michael Hughes and Steve Flavell, have both been named finalists in the prestigious Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT) Enterprise Awards, which recognizes the best of UK and Ireland’s technology entrepreneurial talent.

Hughes received recognition for his commitment to Silicon Valley Internship Programme (SVIP), which gives newly graduating software engineering students from the UK the unique experience of working for high-growth tech companies in Silicon Valley via a one-year paid internship. The goal is to imbue these interns with the “no-fear-of-failure” attitude of the Valley, to then bring this back to the UK and contribute to the burgeoning tech scene there. SVIP recently announced an exciting partnership with Girls in Tech, which expands SVIP’s remit worldwide, with a focus on providing opportunities to talented female engineers around the world via this same one-year paid internship with SVIP companies (including LoopUp!). In Mike’s words, “I’m passionate about giving back to the British entrepreneurial community through my experience in the Bay Area, and SVIP enables us to influence the next-generation of innovators through a well-rounded program that delivers the epitome of real-world experience.”

Flavell received recognition for the continued success of LoopUp, which he co-founded with Hughes. Congratulations to both!
